Scholarships

Choosing which scholarship program to support is a deeply personal decision, and the rewards are just as meaningful. Our undergraduate and graduate scholarship programs create special opportunities for donors and students to connect, fostering relationships that can last a lifetime.

Establishing a Scholarship

NMSU students thrive when provided with scholarships, and you can give our Aggie students the best opportunities by establishing an undergraduate or graduate scholarship. You may design scholarship criteria specific to degrees, colleges, majors, or departments, or select one from a collection of already established scholarships.

Receiving a Scholarship

Every NMSU undergraduate or graduate student is eligible to receive a scholarship through the NMSU Foundation via the NMSU Scholar Dollar portal. Students must complete the Federal Student Aid application (FAFSA), as well as the Scholar Dollar application, to be eligible. Scholarships may be awarded based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities, volunteer services, employment, or financial need.

Giving to a Scholarship Fund

Current Use Gifts

If you want your gift to go to work immediately, a current gift of cash or securities might be the best option. You can give a lump sum or pledge a gift to be completed in five years. Real estate and intangible property also make excellent outright gifts with immediate impact but might require planning.

Endowment Scholarships

Endowed scholarships are crucial to the future of NMSU because they provide benefits to students for generations. The NMSU Foundation invests endowed scholarship funds in a way that maximizes growth while safeguarding the principal. Then it distributes only the earnings on your investment.
