The NMSU Foundation is bringing Aggies together for Homecoming 2025 on Friday and Saturday, November 7-8, for a weekend of tradition, celebration, and school spirit. Since 1926, alumni and fans have cherished Homecoming as a time to reconnect with NMSU and proudly showcase their Aggie pride.
This year’s festivities will feature a historic matchup as the Aggies take on Kennesaw State in their first-ever football showdown against the Owls. While the two schools have previously faced off in men’s basketball, this marks their first meeting on the gridiron. Kennesaw State joined Conference USA in 2024, following NMSU’s move to the conference in 2023.
Throughout the week leading up to the NMSU Homecoming football game, students and alumni can attend numerous events, including class reunions, college and departmental events, the Homecoming parade, the Distinguished Alumni Awards, pre-game tailgates, and more.

Acosta ’10, CEO of the NMSU Foundation. “From the Homecoming parade to honoring outstanding alumni and cheering on our beloved Aggie football team, this is our time to reunite, relive traditions, and make new memories. Get ready for a weekend filled with Aggie pride and make plans to join us in November.”
A highlight of the weekend is the presentation of NMSU’s most prestigious alumni honors: the Distinguished Alumni Awards, the James F. Cole Memorial Award for Service, and the Young Alumni Service Award. These awards celebrate outstanding Aggies who have made an extraordinary impact through their achievements and leadership. Since 1956, more than 400 remarkable alumni have been recognized with these esteemed distinctions. Open to the community, the Distinguished Alumni Awards celebration will be held at the Las Cruces Convention Center on Friday, November 7.
