NMSU Men’s and Women’s Golf Teams Matchplay Tournament

NMSU Men’s and Women’s Golf Teams to Play Inaugural NB3 College Matchplay Tournament October 8 – 9

The New Mexico State University (NMSU) Foundation applauds the NMSU Men’s and Women’s Golf Teams for their upcoming participation in the inaugural NB3 College Matchplay at Twin Warriors Golf Club on the Santa Ana Pueblo.

This invitation-only tournament will air live on the NBC Sports Golf Channel and Peacock on October 8 and 9 from 3:30 – 6:30 p.m. Mountain Time. Our Aggies will compete against the University of New Mexico, University of Texas, and Stanford University in a round robin format. A men’s, women’s, and overall university champion will be decided according to points won during each contest.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Notah Begay III Foundation, which focuses on Native American youth. Born and raised in Albuquerque, in 2002 Begay founded NB3 Consulting, which works with tribal communities pursuing economic development through golf. In 2005, he established the Notah Begay III Foundation, which uses golf matches and other events to raise funds and awareness for its mission.

“We are so thrilled that our men’s and women’s Aggie golfers will have national exposure during such a prestigious event,” said Dr. Sylvia Acosta ’10, CEO of the NMSU Foundation. “We are very supportive of this tremendous effort to showcase the beauty of our state and the skill of our student-athletes.”

NMSU, a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) and Minority Serving Institution (MSI), is known for its outstanding academic programs, highly respected faculty, and nationally recognized research. It also features award-winning men’s and women’s golf teams and is home to one of only 16 PGA (Professional Golfers’ Association) Golf Management University Programs in the U.S. This program has been serving the golf industry, the PGA of America, and NMSU since 1987.
