On Friday, May 1, 2026, the NMSU Foundation and NMSU Athletics will unveil Johnson Stadium at Presley Askew Field, made possible by a generous gift from  Drs. Mike ’72, ’06* and Judy ’12* Johnson. 

This special unveiling will showcase major upgrades to the ballpark, including enhanced player and training facilities, modernized fan amenities, a new digital video scoreboard, and a refreshed gameday experience, setting the stage for a new era of NM State Baseball and boosting our recruiting and competitive edge. 

Event Details: 

• Friday, May 1, 2026 

• 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. MT – Remarks and Unveiling 

• 12:30-1:00 p.m. – Reception  

• Johnson Stadium at Presley Askew Field (Corner of Wells & Locust, NMSU) 

The event will feature on–field remarks, a mayoral proclamation honoring the Johnsons, and a chance to tour the newly completed improvements alongside NMSU leadership, coaches, student athletes, and community partners. 

We hope you’ll join us as we celebrate this milestone and tip our caps to Mike & Judy Johnson, two Aggies whose legacy will be felt for generations.
